This follows an increase of 11.7% in the year to August 2014 and the highest annual increase since July 2007, when prices increased by 12.3%.
Moderate house price increases have been experienced throughout the UK since April 2012. The average UK mix-adjusted house price in September 2014 was £273,000. The recent rise is driven in large part by increases in London property prices.
